Frequently Asked Questions

Are all the money saving cards the same?

All the money saving carry the money saving logo, which is distinctive and easily recognisable. You should therefore honour the discount whenever you see this logo. However, cards are branded differently for different businesses. For example, NHS staff have their own branded version of the card, teachers have a branded version and there is a free version.

How will customers find out about my promotion?

Customers will find out about your business via email, internet search engines such as google, on facebook and via our network of customer focused loyalty websites.

What if all my existing customers obtain a card?

The feedback we receive from businesses who are already on our scheme tells us that when existing customers receive a card, they remain loyal, spend more and return to the businesses more often. This factor along with all the new customers you will receive, will more than offset any discount you offer.

Will you want to charge me for this service in the future?

Our intension is that the money saving card will remain free for businesses to join.  We may develop our service in the future so that we are able to offer you additional services and it is possible we may charge for these services. However, you are under no obligation to purchase anything from us. Ever!

How does the money saving card make money?

The money saving card makes money from selling cards, advertising, online loyalty schemes and by creating ‘white label’ cards for large organisation. This means that we can provide this scheme to outlets completely free of charge.

How is the card advertised?

There are a large number of ways in which the card is advertised. Major organisations such as the NHS publicise the card for us to their staff. We promote to our existing customer base of more than 710,000 members via email and across our network of websites. In addition, there is significant interest in the card from the media (for example, we have been featured on Dragon’s Den). And, many card holders find out about the card by word of mouth and via social networking sites such as facebook.

Who does the card go to?

The card will be promoted to the staff of large organisations and in the media. We aim to publicise your offer as widely as possible so that you obtain as many new and loyal customers as possible.

Do we limit the number of businesses on the card?

There is no limit on the number of businesses on the card. The aim is to have a significant number of businesses on the scheme in each area in order to make the card valuable to the card holders which in turn will increase the number of card holders and therefore the number of new customers you will receive.

Do we limit the amount of people who can get a card?

No, the aim is to offer the card to as many different people as possible so that we publicise your offer as widely as possible so that you obtain as many new and loyal customers as possible.

Why is our card better than other cards?

The Money Saving Card is part of VAC Media, the largest provider of loyalty schemes in the UK. We own more than 180 websites including incentive marketing portals, price comparison sites and consumer review websites. We are supported by 62 staff and have heavily invested in in-house solutions over the past 5 years. We operate around 100 cashback websites including our white label cashback solutions for leading companies.

In a nutshell, we are the market leaders in online and offline customer loyalty.

What kind of promotion would be suitable for the card?

The decision as to what promotion or discount you offer our card holders is left up to you. After all, you know your business best. However, in our experience, a simple discount of 10% or greater and without conditions attracts the most customers.

Can we have exclusions on our promotion?

Yes, it is possible to add exclusions. However, discounts without exclusions tend to be best at attracting new customers. Let us know the type of exclusion you would like to add when you register your business and we will let you know if we are able to accommodate this before we make your promotion live.
